Activities/Attractions: The Upper Tiber Valley is located on the eastern edge of Tuscany close to the source of the river Tiber. It is here that the river flows placidly into the valley, forming a natural amphitheatre of uncontaminated beauty, in a magnificent scenery afforded by the fluid profile of the hilltops which can be seen trailing off into the distant Apennine mountain range.

A solar and intimate atmosphere can be felt in these places, whose specific naturalistic, architectural and cultural characteristics make the area one of the preferred destination for national and international tourists alike.

Torre del Guado  is placed at the same distance (3 kms) from the medieval towns of Anghiari and Sansepolcro - situated in the Upper Tiber Valley, and 30 kms from Arezzo, not far from Cortona and Siena, on the edge of the Chianti wine region of Umbria.

The villa’s convenient location will allow you to easily reach the main art cities including Assisi and Urbino, Perugia and Pisa, Trasimeno Lake, Florence and Rome). They are all a day-trip away and  easily accessible through the near E45 speedway, at only 4 kms from the villa.

We were warmly received by our hosts Matteo and her husband who were very knowledgeable and helpful about the area, places to visit, where to shop for the best food and where to get discounts at area stores. The grounds were extensive and very well kept. The pool was a bonus; we loved coming back after a day exploring the countryside to relax and cool off in the huge salt water pool overlooking the beautiful Tuscan hills. It was a perfect place for families as well. The appt. itself was spotless, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable. Everything you needed was provided. I really felt at home and was sad to leave. I would highly recommend Torre del Guado to anyone who wants to spend some time exploring southern and eastern Tuscany."
