"We spent two weeks at Ca' Solare, and had the time of our lives. Cristina and Dario are consummate hosts, true to the very best spirit of Italian agriturismo. We relaxed as if at home in the adjoining living and dining rooms, with their traditional brick-vaulted ceiling and farmhouse fireplace. This charming cascina is enveloped by the restful beauty of the surrounding countryside, just moments from an seemingly endless (and largely untouristed) collection of medieval hill towns, nature parks, and the former royal palaces. The local wine is legendary, and well reflected in hearty country breakfasts and refined lunches and dinners served at Ca’ Solare and the nearby restaurants. We hated to leave, and plot endlessly to return." |
