General Information: Welcome to The Baldachin Inn ... a circa 1860 Heritage designated building located at the very centre of Merrickville, a picturesque village close to Ottawa, Ontario. We are locally owned and involved in our community. Housed in Merrickville's most striking mid 1800's stone building, you can enjoy a break from the glass, steel and concrete of the present day, and relax in the style and warmth that has made Merrickville the popular destination that it is.

Merrickville's Baldachin Inn offers traditional European-style hospitality. Our rooms, feature private baths, sumptuous decorations and a touch of the 19th century. Despite our heritage charm, we certainly understand modern conveniences. All rooms are air-conditioned for your comfort. Some of our rooms are equipped with spas. Inn and Room features include:

• Consisting of one bridal suite, two junior suites with whirlpool and fireplace, two rooms with twin beds and six regular rooms with one queen bed

We have facilities to handle groups from 10 to 200 in our banquet and meeting rooms, including Merrickville's largest and most spectacular Ballroom. Our Ballroom is one of only 2 large rooms in North America that uses "Kings Truss" construction. This allows for a very large room, undisturbed by posts and pillars. The Ballroom features 15 foot stone walls, seating for 200, hardwood floors and an elegant country French decor overlooking the Historic Rideau Canal.

"Over the years I have stayed in the Bridal Suite, The Junior Suite, and have had several meals in the dining room to celebrate birthdays, anniversary etc. Each time our meal was fantastic, the service was top notch and the rooms were beautiful.
