Activities/Attractions: Loxahatchee is in Palm Beach County, in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale metro area. The community name derives from Indian term for "turtle river". The rural enclave of Loxahatchee Groves is cradled between Wellington to the south, Royal Palm Beach to the east and The Acreage to the north and west.
A mixture of five-acre and 10-acre lots, Loxahatchee Groves is home to approximately 4,000 residents who prefer wide-open spaces. One of the oldest communities in the county, it is also the county's newest municipality.
