Activities/Attractions: Picton (including Mowbray Park, Tahmoor, Thirlmere, Lakesland, Buxton, Couridjah, Douglas Park and Hilltop) is a quiet township on the edge of the Southern Highlands ... located on fertile land 68 km south west of Sydney and 171 m above sea-level in the foothills near Stonequarry Creek, a tributary of the Nepean River.

Picton has some lovely old buildings and public works to delight the visitor, like the old railway viaduct over Stonequarry Creek, the slab-built St Matthew’s Church, constructed in 1838, and several old family homesteads, one of which, Jarvisfield, is now the clubhouse for members of the Antill Park Gold Club.

For over 30 years Mowbray Park has been introducing children to the joy of horses and horse riding. Within the safety of our round yard, arena yard and gymkhana paddock children from the age of 10 years up to 16 years learn how to be safe around horses and to build confidence around these beautiful animals. Mowbray Park camps are focused on natural horsemanship and our camp is an introduction to this sublime art. We introduce the children to partnering strategies designed to broaden their understanding of the relationship between humans and horses.

Our New South Wales Guesthouse is a unique Australian Farm experience with lots of hands on activities, horse riding, very comfortable accommodation and wonderful country style cooking. Guests can choose from classic Country Lodges, the deluxe ensuite rooms of the main Homestead or the colonial warmth of Majellan Lodge with its wide sweeping views and ensuite guest rooms.

• Majellan Lodge - 6 individual family rooms with private ensuites (two with spa baths) fridge, tea & coffee facilities in each room, large guest TV area and lounge with views over the property. 2 rooms linked by a large bathroom
  
• Alverna Lodge - Is ideal for two individual families or a group, the six bedroom lodge can be divided into two separate sections, each with its own lounge and private bathroom, TV, fridge, tea and coffee facilities
  
• Chapel Cottage - A cosy three bedroom cottage with its own lounge and open fire, TV, fridge, tea and coffee facilities, also suitable for tour groups and schools
  
• Cheddington Lodge - Perfect for large family gatherings, tour groups, schools and retreat groups (sleeps 56). This lodge has ten bedrooms, 3 with en-suite 8 showers and toilets. Large lounge area with TV DVD and A/C, kitchenette with tea and coffee making facilities, microwave and fridge
  
• The Main Homestead (Barker's Lodge) - Has 4 twin share or double rooms and 2 family rooms, each with en-suite. Lounge area has open fire, billiard table and tea and coffee making facilities as well as TV DVD. Barkers Lodge is a perfect adult retreat
  

Over the past ten years extensive improvements have been undertaken ... including the installation of a Commercial Kitchen, air conditioned Restaurant, Recreational Hall, Conference Hall, Observation Deck, restoration of the original Homestead - Gatekeepers Cottage - Chapel Cottage and 3 Accommodation Lodges and installation of a large swimming pool.
