Activities/Attractions: Laurel Bank B&B is situated on an elevated site close to the historic Castlerigg Stone Circle and Keswick town centre, it is an ideal base to leave your vehicle in the secure private car park whilst you explore the Lakeland fells on foot. Walking to the town centre is a joy along the Keswick old railway footpath, this scenic route takes in panoramic views of Grisedale Pike and Latrigg and a tranquil moment on the footbridge over the river Greta.
A fifteen minute walk from the B&B, along the scenic Keswick old railway footpath takes you to Keswick's Leisure Centre, a further five minute walk through Fitz Park and you have the shops, pubs and restaurants at your disposal plus the cinema and theatre on the shores of Lake Derwentwater.
Within ten minutes walk of our bed & breakfast is Keswick's Fitz Park on the banks of the river where you can relax in the colourful gardens or, per chance, watch a local cricket or bowls game. There is also a playground for the younger members of the family or swimming and exercise facilities for everyone in the Leisure Centre. Stroll for a further five minutes and you are in Keswick town centre.
For the less active the bus stop is virtually on the door step of the B&B with connections to Penrith railway station, Keswick bus station, Cockermouth, Workington and Windermere.

Local proprietors at Laurel Bank, Rodney & Margaret Roper have been in the hospitality and B&B business in and around Keswick for almost thirty years. Rodney, a native of the area is a keen walker and is always ready to help with information on walking/climbing routes and sight-seeing whilst Margaret, a qualified chef, is happy to provide a hearty Cumbrian breakfast to start your day!
