Activities/Attractions: Clapham is one of the prettiest villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. An oasis of peace and tranquility, and within easy walking distance of the majestic Ingleborough, with cottages set either side of Clapham beck.

For walkers, we have everything from smooth, marked nature trails like the one that starts in our village, to the slightly more adventurous Waterfalls Walk in nearby Ingleton, right up to the justly famous and challenging Three Peaks route. Also enjoy:

Underground, rivers and waterfalls have over the millennia, carved a 3-D labyrinth of amazing tunnels, shafts and chambers in the limestone, and leave behind beautifully sculptured rock forms and exquisite stalagmites and stalactites.

Trained cavers and potholers come to practise their skills and marvel at the underground world, and for those wishing a more sedate experience, there are two fantastic show caves nearby: Ingleborough Cave, which is a gentle 40 minute walk from our doorstep along the nature trail, and White Scar Cave near Ingleton, a 5 minute drive away ... and when you return from your adventure in the evening, a pot of tea and log fire awaits.

General Information: Arbutus Country Guest House, offering home cooking and large well-appointed en-suite rooms, is set in a delightful riverside location in the village of Clapham, North Yorkshire, England ... ideally located in one of the most beautiful parts of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and within 30 minutes' drive of the Lake District.

Arbutus Guest House was originally the Clapham village Vicarage until it was tastefully converted into a guesthouse in 1985. It was built in 1835, and is an excellent example of Georgian architecture. In all we have seven bedrooms of which six have en suite facilities, and the seventh is a single room with adjacent bathroom.

• We are situated in the heart of the village, two minutes' walk to the local Inn and village shops
  
• The bedrooms are all well proportioned and the comfortable residents lounge with roaring log fire are a "welcome to the eyes", after a day out walking or just exploring the locality
